Herr Memorial Library (Mifflinburg), The Public Library for Union County (Lewisburg), and West End Library (Laurelton) will have the basic federal tax forms:

Form 1040 and instruction booklet and the 6 new Form 1040 Schedules.  All tax payers file Form 1040.   Form 1040-A and Form 1040-EZ are no longer used.

These forms and schedules and additional schedules can be downloaded and printed from library printers.  Printing fees do apply.

These and all other federal forms and publications are available to download from www.irs.gove-Book versions of instruction booklets and other IRS publications are also available.

PA Department of Revenue is NOT sending the library any PA Tax forms and schedules or PA Property Tax/Rent Rebate booklets this year.  To obtain forms:

  • Make an appointment with Union-Snyder Community Action Agency for tax help 570-374-0181 (Income eligibility is required.)
  • Visit the PA Department of Revenue District Office in Sunbury. Call ahead at 570-988-5520
  • Phone PA Department of Revenue to request that forms be mailed to your home 1-800-362-2050
  • Go to the PA Department of Revenue’s website to download & print forms https://www.revenue.pa.gov
  • Visit any of the three Union County Libraries for help downloading and printing forms – Herr Memorial Library, Mifflinburg; The Public Library for Union County, Lewisburg; and West End Library, Laurelton. Printing fees do apply.

Local Tax Help

The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program offers free tax preparation. Union-Snyder Community Action Agency has partnered with the IRS to help individuals with low to moderate income file their taxes. The program is limited to those filing non-itemized returns.

Rebate forms for property taxes or rent paid in 2018 will be available at the end of February.  If you received or qualified for a rebate within the last year, you will automatically receive the form in the mail.
