during the 2017 summer reading program.

DIY Phone Projector for Teens

Rabies Clinic with Dr. Ward
Saturday, July 15 – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Partnering with Danielle L. Ward, D.V.M. the library hosts a low-cost rabies clinic for cats and dogs on the library’s lawn. Cost for each vaccine is $8.00 and there is no registration required. Bring a donation of any dog and cat food for Arthur’s Pet Pantry.

Tropes vs. Women in Gaming

Toddler Discover

This class is for children ages 18 months to 3 years old and their caregivers. Discover
Tuesdays, 10:30 am
Discover is a preschool story time for children up to age 5 along with a parent or grandparent. This program has a weekly theme with read-aloud stories, age-appropriate activities and crafts, musical instruments and songs. Adults will be offered a take-home paper with theme-related crafts, rhymes, snacks, and suggested “getting ready for kindergarten” activities. Building Block Parties

Meets every Thursday until July 27
Children from pre-school to school age are invited to come to play with the variety of block building sets. Block play is shown to help children develop many life skills and helps them to learn to think critically and creatively! For young readers, the library has books about building, tools and more. The blocks were provided by The Office of Commonwealth Libraries.

Sun’s Out Kids Out

Summer is a great time for playing outside but it also brings some safety hazards. This program is geared to help children understand summer safety so they can focus on fun. Build a Better World – Legos Big and Small

Ongoing program running June 10 – 16 during regular library hours
Drop in to the library during the week of June 10 through the 16th and build with the Lego blocks. We have the large Lego blocks for younger children and the regular blocks for older kids. No registration required.

Germ City

Scavenger Hunt

Do you like to search for hidden things and solve problems? Participate in a scavenger hunt! Pick up a clue at the circulation desk and then search around in the library to find the answer to your clue. This is an activity for pre-school through school age children. No registration required.

Cooking Demonstration

My Plate
Tuesday, July 11 – 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Before you eat, think about what goes on your plate. This program teaches the basic food groups, proper serving sizes, and nutritional information for kids. My Plate will be held during our Discover Time for preschoolers. No registration required.

Butterfly Program
Monday, July 17 – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Jerry Schneider, a former teacher, children’s librarian, and inventor of The Butterfly Game, helps kids explore interesting features about butterflies. Learn to distinguish moths from butterflies, how to bring butterflies into your backyard and garden, and about the amazing Monarch migration to Mexico. The program concludes with a wonderful butterfly t-shirt craft. Children may purchase heavy cotton t-shirts for $4.00 or bring their own.

Decorate a Bird House
Saturday, July 22 – 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
Ongoing program running July 22 to July 27 during regular library hours
Drop in to decorate a small wooden bird house that you can use as a summer decoration indoors or outside. Paints and other decorative items are available for you to express your own creativity. This program is open to pre-school through school age children.

Wreck This Journal

Those Taste Little Plants Called Herbs

Ms. Kim and Ms. Pat show children how to plant seeds and take care of a garden. Enjoy gardening games and activities. Don’t Lose It – Reuse It!

Meets every Wednesday until August 2nd
Turn recyclables into new useful items. Each week features a different project. Class size is limited to 15. The August 2nd session of “Don’t Lose it, Reuse It!” is open for children to play the cardboard arcade games that were made on July 26. Lego Animators Club
